Jan 28th, 2010, 8:45pm

Hey all last night i played a freeroll on betraiser, There were 134 players got down to the last 29 i think it was, blinds were 800/400 i had around 11,000 chips

I got dealt A-Ks there were 4 players that flat called the BB so i put in a raise of around 2,600 everyone folded apart from one guy that re-raised me i sat and thought for a minute...what the hell has he got  Roll Eyes I put him on a low pair maybe even Q-K so i re-raised him all-in thinking i was in front he call's he had A-A dont think i need to say no more i didnt hit..... Cry

Me and the boyfriend had a dicussion about the hand, He thought i should have folded it .... Roll Eyes

I just want to know from you guys if you think i played that hand bad and what i should have maybe done a little different... Cool

Odd that he just flat called in first place, but some people do hopeing to trap, i would rather make em pay if im gonna lose with AA least im going in in front  Roll Eyes imo always raise with ak but if someone makes a big re raise you gotta think AA kk, but on saying that it's happened to me a few time's were i'v made a big raise with AA n someone's pushed allin on AK n done me  Roll Eyes   Do think a lot off people over rate  AK its not a made hand, but for some reason people just don't lay it down even if it gets to the flop n no hit. Don't think you played it bad at all, the no raise per flop prob put you off the AA... Anyways thats my feelings....  Wink  Bloody AK hate the hand  Angry

You say there was 29 left Chelsey, what position were you laying in.
I think thats the vital point here.
The other player has obviously got you covered in chips.
If you are in the top few positions, then a fold may be correct, if you are in the bottom positions, then imo, the push is deffo correct.
Mid position maybe call and see the flop, if you dont hit, you can then maybe get away from the hand.
To be honest, i dont think you have done to much wrong, just unlucky to run into AA at that time.
Good thing was Chelsey, you had a think and tried to put the player on certain hands, thats good poker mate.
Move on to the next game and keep going mate, i know youve learnt a good bit off me and your mum, but you are putting your own stamp on your game and thats good.
You and Luke will be two forces to be reckoned with, the way your both progressing,
Keep it up.
Hopefully there will be a few more replys, a very interesting situation.

Matey did play it very sneaky in my eyes thou Angry

Admittedly, it is hard to gauge things without all the information available, but here goes -

1) The limp-re-reraise is a huge warning, so huge infact it deserves it's own siren. The players you will find in these kind of games, ie, freerolls, are straight-forward & simple with their actions. So with his actions you can put him Aces or Kings, which have you crushed and it's a very easy fold.

2) A lot of newer players when faced with decisions like this tend to over to the positive side of things, always considering their opponent is playing hands they CAN beat. I am not suggesting pessimism but really be aware of how your opponents play and what cards they have showdown and apply this information when making your decisions.

I think Bainn would agree that his ego is plenty big enough for both of us...in fact he has mine also!

He certainly does not need defending, Dave, lol!

He also won't be upset at me saying that.  I was not being nasty.  I live with him and know he has no confidence issues whatsoever.

Yes, he is a good find for the forum.  I would never dispute that. Why do you think I am with him Smiley he is an allround good guy.
